Product description
Thermoplastics such as PP or PE pose special challenges to the printing industry. Their low surface energy results in insufficient wettability, making them very difficult to print. Openair-Plasma® pretreatment increases the surface energy of the polymers, which significantly improves their wettability. This results in a considerable increase in adhesion, which allows the printing ink to form a durable and wear-resistant bond with the treated surface. This highly targeted pretreatment method enables high-quality and durable prints to be produced on a wide variety of polymers. This technology is used, for example, to improve printing on pens, toothbrushes, computer keyboards, but also for the processing of automotive parts, composites or recycled materials. In addition, plasma technology is particularly important for printing on recycled polymers, to compensate for the uneven quality of the material that makes printing difficult. The use of Openair-Plasma® treatment allows the increase of surface energy and provides an effective solution to resolve this problem.
